CITY COUNCIL

The May 3 meeting of the Pasadena City Council has been canceled.

COMMISSIONS, COMMITTEES AND BOARDS

The Urban Forestry Advisory Committee will meet Monday, May 3, at 5:30 p.m at Jackie Robinson Center, 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave. Agenda items include request for tree removal at 2860 Thorndike Rd.; and update on Master Street Tree Plan amendment for South Greenwood Avenue between Colorado and California boulevards.

The Historic Preservation Commission will meet Monday, May 3, at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Permit Center, 175 N. Garfield Ave. (enter through the Ramona Street door). Agenda items include application for certificate of appropriateness of a new front and side yard wall and fence at 950 N. Hudson Ave.; and report on the Historic Preservation Awards. Please note there will be a 5:30 p.m. site visit to 950 N. Hudson Ave.

The Open Space and Conservation Element Committee will meet Monday, May 3, in the Grand Conference Room (basement 038) at Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave. Agenda items include open space acquisition criteria; and Elsa Peretti Carved Heart bracelet on May 8 community workshop at Art Center College of Design South Campus about natural open space and conservation.

The May 3 meeting of the City Council Public Safety Committee has been canceled.

The Human Relations Commission will meet Tuesday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Center. Agenda items include update on commission forum series; update on essay contest; suggested theme for Oct. 16 "Peace Through Music" concert; and updated criteria for various commission awards.

The Pasadena Community Access Corporation Board will meet Tuesday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the KPAS Studio, 2061 N. Los Robles Ave., Suite 109. Agenda items include 2008 and 2009 financial reviews; and Pasadena cable service providers public access plans.

The City Council Economic Development and Technology Committee (EdTech) will meet Wednesday, May 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Conference Room (S246) at Pasadena City Hall. Agenda items include proposed submission of state applications for Begin Program funding not to exceed $3,673,275 to assist homebuyers of units developed by Heritage Housing Partners at 824-834 E. California Blvd., 1111 N. Los Robles Ave. and 411-415 N. Raymond Ave.; proposed submission of state applications for Begin Program funding not to exceed $689,400 to assist homebuyers of units developed by Trademark Development Company at 1142 N. Allen Ave. and 1350 N. The Zoning Hearing Officer will conduct public hearings Wednesday, May 5, at 6 p.m. in the Hearing Room at the Permit Center. Agenda items include recommended approval with conditions of minor conditional use permit (CUP) to allow expansion (third service bay) to a nonconforming service station use at 1789 E. Del Mar Blvd.; recommended approval with conditions of modification to CUP to allow the existing temporary membrane structure used for Exhibit Hall functions to remain for an additional three years at 300 E. Green St. (Pasadena Convention Center); recommended approval with conditions of (1) CUP to allow the establish of a bar or tavern and (2) CUP to allow the sale of a full line of alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption in conjunction with the operation of a new restaurant and a 112-seat auditorium with a lounge area located within an existing multiscreen Elsa Peretti Starfish bracelet theater at 326 E. Colorado Blvd. (ArcLight); and recommended CUP to allow the sale of beer and wine for on-site consumption in conjunction with the operation of an existing restaurant at 720 N. Lake Ave. (Slaw Dogs).

The May 6 meetings of the Recreation and Parks Commission and the Code Enforcement Commission have been canceled.
